Enlightenment
Enlightenment is possible for everyone, for we are created by the same God. No one religion has the answer. No one person has the answer. Only you can do the ground work for your enlightenment. Only you can determine what enlightenment is for you.
As I was showing a picture of my son with his Sound Journey ensemble, I was asked. “Has your son reached enlightenment?” I had the feeling that this question was asked, because this nice woman wasn't sure how attainable enlightenment is for her. This question caused me to think about what enlightenment means to me, as well as to others.
My mind went back to a night, when I went to listen to a man. This kind man, spoke of his beliefs and the way to enlightenment. The more he spoke, the more grateful I was for having my own understanding of enlightenment. You see, his way made it look like so much work, and to me, his way sounded fruitless. For, if we follow his way of thinking, we seem to sabotage ourselves easily and often and then have to start over.
I am writing this to simplify enlightenment, for those who are wanting it. (From my point of view.)
Have you ever had an a-ha moment? Where an answer or an idea seems to just pop into your head and you thought, wow, that was simple. Why didn’t I think of that before? That is enlightenment. You allowed your mind to open, giving up all resistance on the subject, allowing the answer to flow to you easily and in a way that works for you, from your guides/higher self.
So how do you get this more often? Learn to meditate. Take 15-30 minutes a day and let your mind relax. Focus on breath or focus on a sound that takes your mind away. If things pop into your thoughts, let them pass through and put your attention back on your breath/sound.
Don’t worry about steps. Don’t worry about traditions, (unless they help you). Find your own way to enlightenment by closing your eyes & relaxing your mind. Be confident that what you need will flow to you naturally, in your way, in your time.
There are those who tell you their way is THE way. While their intentions may be good, just remember, their way is exactly that, THEIR WAY. You need to find yours and you will with patience and meditation.
So was my son enlightened? Yes. Through meditation he has discovered ways to create instruments never before created. (www.rootflute.com)
My daughter has found enlightenment. She is guided through her intuition constantly. She takes the time, listens and trusts.
My oldest son has found it. Through meditation he has been guided to overcome PTSD, smoking and body ailments.
Enlightenment isn’t this “great mystery”. It is an understanding of your true being, your worthiness of this life and understanding that you are here to grow your soul, to understand that you are not alone. There are angels/guides with you always, just waiting for the opportunity to help.
Each person is on their own journey. We have different reasons for being, but in the end it is all about growth.
Let no one make you feel less than you are. No one is superior and enlightenment comes as easily as you believe and grows according to your faith.
